Food photo fest and misc in Bangkok

New cat friend Triangle Head, loud Siamese meow
yes, I got a cat shirt. Seemed the thing to do in BKK.

not eaten (yet)--deep fried eggs? -- this and below are at a Sunday food market right at our nearest BTS station of Sala Daeng
eaten--grilled squid

not eaten--in the old district, lacy crispy edibles

eaten--"fresh spring rolls" - these had a sweet sauce covering tofu and vegetables

eaten--various curries with the above spring rolls: eggplant, chicken, basil leaf, coconut based
as we left our neighborhood this morning we saw preparations for street food

take-away food eaten at our hotel: papaya salad with crushed fried rice balls, sausage, cilantro, red onion, chilis, rice vinegar and sesame oil, also a simple fried chicken and rice

not eaten: panda delights

eaten: Phat Thai Big Prawn at Chatusek Mkt

 the sign does not lie
eaten: coconut ice cream with black beans, fresh slices of coconut in the shell, unidentified grated gourd

we got to choose our own coconut ice cream toppings
eaten: steamed rice crepe quarters filled with sesame peanut paste, served with fresh romaine, cilantro, tiny green chiles
Bangkokian Museum, in Bangrak area. This was a great stop--awesome old house with furnishings from the 50s-60s. The octogenarian professor woman who left the house to the City was on site when we visited. We had to turn back from the Grand Palace in the Old City for fear of being crushed by tour groups, so we trekked out to this place instead. Low key, middle class house with a photo display history of immigration to the area (written mostly in Thai) --the throngs should be going here (but we were glad they weren't).
Bangkokian Museum interior. The simple light fixture is on a pulley system. Lovely wide plank teak floors.

Groovy art in a public park near Ratchathewi Stn

I do not understand the kiwi bread yet

the King

at a tourism festival at Lumpini park near our hotel. I love the layered cut plywood effect on this float.

alley in the old district. I'd live here.
